FAQ’S
ON IP AUDIT
This IP Audit
is a preliminary assessment that helps to ascertain whether your organization
has any intellectual property, and if it does, if it is adequately protected.
If we see that they are not adequately protected, we will suggest the
necessary steps which you need to take to ensure adequate protection.
An IP audit
is not only useful, it is essential in today’s business environment.
Intellectual property is one of the most valuable assets a business can
possess, especially one in the IT sector, such as yours. However, the
vast majority of businesses are not aware of this fact, and even if they
are, they have not determined what intellectual properties they might
be in possession of.
This is usually because
those who own the business have been fully preoccupied with starting and
managing it. Another reason is that there isn’t enough expertise
in the field within the organization, and using external expertise would
cost money that might be perceived as being better deployed elsewhere.
An IP audit is the only
means by which a business can determine the various intellectual properties
is in possession of, and thereby take the necessary steps to protect and
fully exploit it commercially.
Since Intellectual
property is intangible, i.e. it is not made up of physical objects. It
doesn’t make a difference whether we physically come to your premises.
We can determine if you have any such property, and what they might be,
from your answers to our questions.
This is a FREE service, aimed at creating awareness about Intellectual
Property Rights and the importance of taking adequate steps to protect
them.

Ours is a system
that judiciously combines the automated and the human to ensure the best
results for you. The process of reaching out to businesses and gathering
information about the assets they might have is automated, since that
is the most effective way of doing it. However, once the relevant information
has been received, the same is studied by our team of experts to assess
what intellectual properties each respondent possesses, and how best these
can be protected.
Given the volume
of responses likely to be generated by this exercise and the diligence
applied by our professionals to the assessment of each response, you should
receive a report within 20-30 days.
The report
will contain a list of the various Intellectual Properties that your business
is in possession of, and the necessary steps that need to be taken to
adequately protect each.
